We are a small collaborative design studio with 20+ years experience leading and learning from some of the best editorial teams the world has to offer. Based in Toronto, Canada, we use strategic thinking to partner with local and global brands to tell their stories in a modern, compelling way. Specializing in narrative-driven editorial solutions—branded content, product launches, redesigns, streamlined workflows and beyond—Studio Wyse produces smart, engaging visual solutions across traditional and digital mediums.
We partner with clients to establish strong creative and content teams. We recognized the unique value of our shared experiences in creating great things that we care about, traversing the independent, mainstream and commercial worlds. We’re deliberately small and work with a carefully chosen team of people that we trust.
Our work has been recognized by both local and international awards programs including recognition from SNDs, the D&ADs, ADCCs, NMAs, Applied Arts, Type Directors Club, and the SPDs for a collection of over 100 awards.
Vanessa Wyse
Founder, Creative Director
Vanessa is a native of Sydney, Australia now based in Toronto, Canada. She has over 20 years experience working in consumer magazines. She founded Studio Wyse in 2015, previous to that she was the founding Creative Director of the internationally recognized city weekly, The Grid. This included print, digital and the branding of numerous successful events. During her time at The Grid, she lead a team of talented designers, photo editors and contributors to over 70 national and international awards. This included being named one of The World's Best Designed Newspapers by the Society of News Design (SND). The Grid was the first ever back-to back- to back winner in the history of SND. Nothing makes Vanessa happier than pulling something apart and fixing it. Fun fact: she can’t wink with one eye, neither can Rihanna.
